Margot Robbie in Talks to Star in Tim Burton's 'Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman' Remake

Margot Robbie is in early discussions to join Tim Burton's remake of 'Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman' for Warner Bros., with her production company LuckyChap also in talks to produce. If a deal is finalised, Robbie would star in the film, which reimagines the 1958 sci-fi horror classic about a wealthy heiress who becomes a giant after an alien encounter and seeks revenge on her unfaithful husband.

Burton, who plans to direct and produce alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper, has been developing the project since last February. 'Gone Girl' screenwriter Gillian Flynn wrote an initial draft but has since left due to other commitments. The producers are now searching for a new writer, and Robbie's involvement as lead will depend on the final script.

The collaboration would unite two of Warner Bros.' most successful recent partners. LuckyChap, which produced the Oscar-winning 'Barbie' — the studio's highest-grossing film ever with $1.45 billion globally — signed a multi-year first-look deal with Warner Bros. following that success. Robbie next stars in Warner Bros.' 'Wuthering Heights', due in February, and LuckyChap is also developing an 'Ocean's Eleven' film at the studio.

Burton, meanwhile, delivered a hit for Warner Bros. in 2024 with 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice', which earned $452 million worldwide. The studio declined to comment on the report, which was first published by The Insneider.
