Dumped Love Island star Chidi Ogandu has spoken out for the first time since his exit, claiming he deserved 'more honesty' and predicting which couple won't survive the outside world.
Double Eviction Shakes Villa
The 27-year-old engineer from Milton Keynes was ousted alongside Halle Brown in a brutal double eviction during Sunday's episode (June 21). The pair were voted out by fellow Islanders after being deemed the least compatible couples in a tie-break vote.
Chidi and Mica were chosen as least compatible, sending the newcomers packing after only a fleeting stint in the villa. They had been introduced during a sleepover and given the chance to couple up, but Chidi's connection with Mica was complicated by her existing bond with Simba.
Chidi Wishes for More Honesty
Reflecting on his experience, Chidi described his exit as 'bittersweet' but admitted he learned a lot about himself. He said: 'I wish I'd chosen someone else for my sleepover person, but it is what it is now.'
He revealed that he selected Mica based on her demeanour and maturity, unaware that she and Simba were exploring a connection. 'I would have preferred a bit more honesty from the start,' he said. 'If she'd just told me she wasn't feeling it, I would have gone about my way.'
Regrets and Future Picks
Had he faced a recoupling, Chidi would have chosen Tina instead. 'Me and Tina got on really, really well,' he said. 'We had a really good dynamic. I fancied her and I know she definitely had something there for me too.'
He tipped Sean and Lola as favourites to win the series but predicted Kav and Jasmine won't last. 'No offence to Kav and Jasmine, but I don't really see that lasting,' he explained. 'If it was a situation outside of Love Island, I don't think it would have lasted as long.'
