Love Island star Trent Woolman hospitalised after bonfire fall

Trent Woolman, an ITV reality star known for appearing on Love Island Australia, has been hospitalised with life-threatening burns after falling into a bonfire. The 28-year-old had to crawl to his sister's house after becoming trapped in the flames while working alone in a paddock in Inverleigh, Victoria.

Severe Burns and Brain Injury

Doctors discovered multiple brain bleeds and a cyst on his brain, which delayed a surgical skin graft to repair the damage to his arms. Woolman has spent two weeks in hospital and faces several more weeks of treatment.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Woolman described the incident as the "worst time" of his life. He said: "I got stuck on the fire and got off and crawled back to the house. Been in hospital for two weeks and have a couple of weeks to go."

Emergency Response and Recovery

His sister called an ambulance, with Woolman praising her as "amazing" and "so brave". MICA intensive care paramedics were dispatched, and a helicopter was requested to airlift him to a hospital in Melbourne. Woolman confirmed he was sober at the time of the accident, which he described as "traumatic".

Images shared with the publication showed bandages covering his entire face and forearms.

Reality TV Background and Future Appearances

Woolman is best known for starring in the 2023 series of Love Island Australia. He previously confirmed that he had a romantic history with season four finalist Phoebe Spiller, saying in 2023: "I dated… well, not dated, but we were on and off for a couple of years, Phoebe Spiller from last year and I. I thought I was gonna marry that girl, so I was pretty disappointed to see her on the show last year."

He is set to make a cameo in the new series of Married at First Sight Australia, attending the wedding of his Love Island co-star Zac Nunns, who is paired with TikTok star Vanilla Milla on the show.
