Love Island's Cally Jane Beech, 34, and SAS: Who Dares Wins star David James 'DJ' O'Neal, 40, tied the knot on June 6 in Ibiza, with the groom making a dramatic entrance on a motorcycle to AC/DC's Highway to Hell. The couple, who first met in 2016 and reconnected in 2022, wanted a ceremony that was the opposite of traditional.
Venue and Guests
The wedding took place at a picturesque villa in Santa Eularia, Ibiza, where the couple first met. Seventy-five guests attended, including their children from previous relationships: Cally's daughter Vienna, 9, and DJ's sons Cameron and Adam. Former Gogglebox star Marcus Luther and his wife Mica Ven were also present.
Ceremony Details
Cally wore a white floor-length gown with lace cutouts from Goldie's Bridal in York. She revealed the dress to her father Dale, daughter Vienna, and her bridesmaids. Vienna, whose father is Cally's Love Island ex Luis Morrison, said her mum looked like a princess. DJ's entrance on a motorbike was the only input he had in the day, he joked. Unbeknownst to him, Cally and Vienna had recorded a message: 'Thank you for taking care of my mummy's heart.'
'DJ was already crying before he saw me because of Vienna's note, then he got emotional again when he saw me,' Cally said. 'He's a sensitive person, which is what I love about him.'
Reception and Entertainment
After the 3pm ceremony, the couple went straight into speeches. DJ wrote a whole book for his speech, with each chapter dedicated to someone who helped him. 'No one was crying more than DJ's son Adam,' DJ said. The reception featured Spanish tapas and lemon tiramisu instead of cake, a bespoke perfume station, and dancing until 2am. For their first dance, they played the Titanic theme before switching to a country song, Rumor by Lee Brice, which was the first song DJ ever sent Cally.
Planning and Future Plans
The couple got engaged nine months into their relationship and spent two years planning the wedding with help from Pamper Retreats. They have sold their home in Hull to buy land in Barbados, where DJ's father is from, to build their dream home. They are also opening a screen-led Reformer Pilates studio in the UK. Cally and DJ have decided not to have more children. 'We've both decided we don't want more kids,' Cally said. 'Back when we first got together, for me, having more kids was about healing trauma and having a present partner that I feel secure with. But I don't need that now.'
