Georgia and Sam have reportedly quit Love Island 2018 after a dramatic recoupling, leaving their fellow contestants stunned. The pair, who chose to split earlier this week, will miss out on the chance of winning the show’s £50,000 cash prize.
“No one expected these two to leave and it is a massive shock,” a source told The Sun. “Their fellow islanders were stunned when they spoke about their reasons for quitting. It’s going to have a big effect on the show, it's a huge bombshell, and they are going to be massively missed by their co-stars.”
Sam and Georgia sparked fury among viewers earlier this week when a dumping saw them faced with the shock twist of staying together and quitting the show or splitting up and dating the newcomers. Fans slammed Georgia for claiming to be “loyal” yet appearing to reject him in a bid to get more air time.
The decision put a strain on her relationship with Dani who told her to “bore off” in a furious row which also saw old Jack brand her a “little s***”. Viewers later called for Sam and Georgia to be removed from the villa for allegedly breaking the rules by kissing and cuddling despite choosing to split.
Wednesday night’s episode saw Sam grabbing Georgia for a kiss in the bathroom, telling her he is struggling to cope with not being coupled up. The shock exit is set to have a major impact on the dynamics in the villa.
