Lorraine Kelly is set to return to her ITV show tomorrow (Friday, October 23) after Christine Lampard filled in for her during the week. Christine signed off Thursday's episode by telling viewers: "Lorraine is back with you tomorrow. I'll see you very soon. Bye Bye."
Stand-in presenter steps in
For most of this week, the Scottish television personality was absent from her regular daytime slot on ITV1 and ITVX. In her place, Loose Women star Christine Lampard took over hosting duties temporarily, sharing news from the world of entertainment and other topics.
During her tenure, Christine covered updates from Strictly Come Dancing, The Great British Bake Off and the reboot of Glee. She also helped promote the latest from the Pride of Britain Awards.
Family update from home
Lorraine previously issued a family update from home ahead of her absence. In an emotional Instagram post, she shared a photograph of her mother, Anne, 85, with a caption saying: "Mum getting home! Great news and huge thanks to all at Hairmyres hospital for making it happen."
She added: "Thanks also to friends family and fabulous neighbours who have been incredible and so helpful - and to all of you for your good wishes - much appreciated."
Dr Hilary on sleep trend
Elsewhere in Thursday's episode, regular contributor Dr Hilary Jones was in the studio to discuss a new trial in treatment for Alzheimer's. He was also asked for his view on the latest TikTok trend, where people post videos of themselves 'stomping' on salt before bed to try to improve their sleep quality.
Dr Hilary told viewers there was no evidence "at all" that the trend actually works. He explained that human skin is designed to keep things out, but added that if people enjoy the feeling of the crunch on their feet, they should 'go for it', and some find putting rice in their socks just as relaxing.
Lorraine continues tomorrow at 9.30am on ITV1, STV and ITVX.
