Lorraine Kelly Speaks Out on ITV Show Cuts and Least Favourite Guest
Lorraine Kelly on ITV Show Cuts and Least Favourite Guest

Lorraine Kelly has spoken candidly about ITV's decision to cut back her show, revealing her least favourite guest of all time. The 66-year-old Scottish presenter is currently in the US supporting Scotland at the World Cup, but her trip coincides with ITV dramatically slashing the number of episodes her show airs.

ITV's Decision to Reduce Show

Speaking to Saga Magazine, Lorraine admitted she felt 'really rubbish' about ITV's decision to reduce the number of weeks she appears on television. Instead of being on-air every week, she is now only allowed to broadcast 30 out of 52 weeks. Additionally, the runtime of the show has been reduced from one hour to just 30 minutes.

'A lot of my team got made redundant. It was really hard and harder for them. We were very close-knit, but it’s all about budget,' she explained. 'All television shows are in the same boat, we’re not alone.'

Least Favourite Guest: Bruce Willis

Lorraine also reflected on her time on the show and revealed who she least got on with. She explained that a Hollywood actor was particularly difficult to work with. 'We’ve had a few big stars who’ve been really arsey,' Lorraine said. 'Bruce Willis was one, but now I think, "Was it because he was having a bad day, or was it the start of his dementia?"'

Family Struggles and Closer Bonds

Lorraine bravely opened up about her mother Anne's declining health, describing it as 'bad' but noting that Anne remains 'very self-sufficient.' She also confessed she still struggles with life after her father John passed away in January. However, the health struggles of her parents have helped her reconnect with her brother Graham.

'When Dad wasn’t well, it brought us closer, supporting each other,' she said. 'It’s been a tough time, but the conversations you have with your relatives you wouldn’t have had otherwise are amazing: you talk about the past and then the wedding − that’s a new beginning.'
