Nigel Harman has been announced as the latest celebrity to join the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing. The actor, best known for his roles in EastEnders, Downton Abbey, and Casualty, was revealed on Thursday morning's episode of ITV's Lorraine.
Presenter Christine Lampard, filling in for Lorraine Kelly, introduced Harman, saying his life 'is about to take a very sparkly turn.' Harman admitted to feeling a mix of excitement and nerves, saying, 'I've just stepped on to a rollercoaster, we'll see what happens.'
Harman, who played Dennis Rickman in EastEnders from 2003 to 2005, has also appeared in theatre productions including Guys and Dolls and Shrek The Musical. He joined the cast of Casualty earlier this year as Dr Max Cristie.
He becomes the 13th contestant announced for this year's line-up, joining the likes of Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon, and Layton Williams. Strictly Come Dancing returns later this year on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
