Kelvin Fletcher has given fans a look at a renovation project on his Cheshire farm, confirming that the next job is the family home, which was damaged in a fire last year. The 42-year-old actor moved to 120 acres of farmland overlooking the Peak District in 2021 with his wife Liz and their four children.
The family regularly shares moments from their everyday life on social media, and viewers have followed their journey through the ITV show Fletcher's Family Farm. The programme draws millions of viewers each week as the family manage life on the farm, which is located close to Macclesfield, over an hour's drive from Liverpool.
Barn Conversion Into Holiday Let
The former Emmerdale star recently shared an update on the conversion of an old barn into a holiday let. The renovated Stag Cottage has grown significantly in popularity since the show aired. Kelvin described the cottage as a "family affair", with everyone helping out, including daughter Marnie, son Milo, and twin boys Maximus and Mateusz.
In a post on the couple's official Instagram account, photos showed Kelvin hammering walls while standing on a ladder, with his children watching in awe. The caption read: "We love a renovation! The cottage was the first and our next project is our home after the fire. As ever, it will be a family affair and we will start with a vision and embrace every step of the way. Come along for the journey."
Fire-Damaged Home and Fan Reactions
The family's own home was severely damaged in a fire while they were on holiday last year. They have now said they are starting renovations so they can move back into the property. The Instagram carousel also included before and after photos of the cottage, showing what started as a blank canvas now transformed into a holiday let with a living room featuring leather chairs and sage green walls, plus an elegant kitchen dining room.
Fans responded warmly in the comments. One wrote: "Our stay here in September was amazing. Had a lovely chat with Liz she is beautiful." Another said: "Such a beautiful cottage," and a third wrote: "Looks incredible."
Liz has previously said the success of the holiday cottage had "gone above and beyond our expectations." She told viewers on the ITV show: "Since we put the cottage up for rent as a holiday let, it has just gone crazy. We put it online for about two days, and the year literally sold out."
In an interview with the Liverpool ECHO at the National Television Awards in September, Kelvin said he enjoys welcoming people from Merseyside to the holiday let. He told the ECHO: "We get Liverpool [people] visiting us very often with our holiday cottage and some of our events. We get a lot of people from Merseyside over which is always good, so Merseyside has got a nice place in our hearts."
Fletchers' Family Farm airs Sundays on ITV1 and ITVX.
