Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly leads a gripping new Welsh crime drama, Under Salt Marsh, which premiered its first two episodes on Sky on Friday, 30th January. The six-part series follows Reilly as Jackie Ellis, a former detective turned school teacher who becomes entangled in a grim investigation in the small Welsh town of Morfa Halen.
The discovery of a 9-year-old pupil's body revives memories of an unsolved cold case from three years ago—the disappearance of Jackie's niece, Nessa—which cost Jackie her job and fractured her relationship with her sister. Her former partner, Eric Bull, played by Rafe Spall, leads the investigation, and the pair must put aside their differences to explore the town's murky history.
Set in a tight-knit community between mountains and a fast-encroaching sea, the series is described as a “gripping and cinematic” crime drama. New episodes will be released on Fridays throughout February. The cast also includes Jonathan Pryce, Harry Lawtey, Naomi Yang, Kimberley Nixon, Brian Gleeson, and Mark Stanley.
Reilly, best known for playing Beth Dutton in the hit Western franchise, will next appear in the upcoming spin-off The Dutton Ranch, which is slated to premiere later this year.
