Kat Doubts Jasmine's Innocence Despite Self-Defence Video in EastEnders

In Thursday's episode of EastEnders (26 March), Jasmine Fisher's self-defence video finally came to light, showing her killing biological father Anthony Trueman. While Zoe Slater rejoiced, Kat remained sceptical about Jasmine's innocence.

Jasmine (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) was arrested for murder earlier this year, insisting she acted in self-defence after Anthony charged at her. The video evidence, which had gone missing after being stolen by Max Branning and later Cindy Beale, was returned to the Slaters this week.

After watching the video, Zoe immediately moved to use it for Jasmine's defence, and Oscar Branning apologised for not believing her. However, Kat (Jessie Wallace) confided in Alfie (Shane Richie), questioning whether Jasmine's response was proportional to the threat.

Jasmine later revealed that her lawyer shared similar concerns, noting she would still need to stand trial to prove reasonable force. Fans expressed confusion over Kat's suspicions, with one writing: 'Why is Kat so against Jasmine – like you’ve seen video evidence now honey?'

Elsewhere, Jasmine's brother Josh Goodwin learned that his new love interest was actually his twin's ex, Oscar. After Oscar visited Jasmine, they decided to rekindle their relationship, leaving Josh heartbroken. Fans are divided on who Oscar should end up with, sparking speculation that EastEnders might hold a public vote.
