Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) accidentally reveals his feelings for Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) in Emmerdale soon, leaving her overwhelmed as she copes with news about her abuser Tom King (James Chase).
Kammy's Secret Past Comes to Light
Earlier this year, Belle learned that Kammy was secretly homeless and had been living in a barn on Emmerdale Farm. He kept his situation hidden because he didn't want anyone to see him as 'sad and alone', but it nearly led to him going to prison for arson.
Kammy eventually trusted Belle with his story, telling her about his father's death and how he stole cars with his sister to earn money for the family. After getting into trouble with the law and feeling he had failed his mum, he left home.
Belle told Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) about Kammy's plight, and together they devised a plan. Kammy now lives in a caravan outside Wishing Well and regularly visits the family.
Tom King's Release Looms
Life for Kammy and Belle is going well, but trouble is on the horizon. Belle is about to learn that Tom King is being released from prison. When her Victim Liaison Officer visits, she reveals that Tom will be subject to strict licence conditions, meaning he legally cannot go near Belle.
As Kammy's worry grows, Belle learns more about Tom when Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) explains he has been speaking to him in his role as prison chaplain. Charles says Tom has accepted culpability and wants to seek Belle's forgiveness.
A Blurted Declaration
Belle decides to visit Tom herself, but Kammy and Cain disagree. She eventually takes their advice and decides not to go to the prison.
Later, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) visits Cain and warns that if Tom does return, he could be more dangerous than ever. Meanwhile, Kammy is stressed trying to figure out how to keep Belle safe, and when under pressure, he struggles to keep his thoughts to himself.
Kammy blurts out that he loves Belle. Overwhelmed, she fails to respond and runs off.
