Jimi Hendrix's Final UK Concert: Rare 1970 Footage Revealed

Newly revealed footage from Jimi Hendrix's last major US performance, captured at the 1970 Atlanta Pop Festival just two months before his death, is set to air on BBC Four tonight. The feature-length film, titled 'Electric Church', blends documentary and concert footage as Hendrix plays to a crowd of 300,000.

In the film, Hendrix is seen performing funkier new songs such as 'Straight Ahead', making the set particularly poignant given his imminent death. 'We don't play loud to hit people's eardrums,' Hendrix tells an interviewer in the documentary. 'We play to get inside their souls.'

The broadcast is part of an evening lineup that also includes a comedy karaoke adaptation of 'Fawlty Towers: The Play' on Sky Max at 9pm, and the documentary 'Swiped: The Story of Bumble' on Channel 4 at 10pm, which explores the toxic culture in Silicon Valley.
