Jasmine Harman, the beloved presenter of A Place in the Sun, has shared a poignant tribute to her late friend and co-host, Jonnie Irwin, marking what would have been his 52nd birthday.
A Heartfelt Instagram Tribute
Taking to Instagram, Harman posted a nostalgic throwback photograph of the pair from approximately 20 years ago, capturing them in their youth with beaming smiles. She accompanied the image with a moving caption, writing, "Happy heavenly birthday dearest Jonnie. We miss you so much, but especially this weekend when I was celebrating my 50th."
She fondly recalled his vibrant presence at her past milestone celebrations, noting, "You were there at my 30th birthday, and my 40th - always the life and soul of the party." Harman expressed her disbelief at having now caught up to him in age, reflecting that the last time they saw each other was at his own 50th birthday party.
A Friendship Forged on Screen
Harman and Irwin's professional and personal bond was profound, having presented the popular Channel 4 property show since its launch in 2004. Their friendship extended far beyond the television cameras, making his loss all the more significant.
Jonnie Irwin died in February last year following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was survived by his wife and their three young children. In her post, Harman sent love to his family and vowed to always treasure the memories of their fun times together.
Personal Challenges for Jasmine
This emotional tribute comes during a difficult period for Jasmine Harman. She recently revealed that her husband, Jon Boast, suffered a suspected mild heart attack while filming their show, Jasmine Harman's Renovations In The Sun, on the Spanish island of Costa Del Sol.
Paramedics were called after Jon experienced chest pains and he was rushed to hospital. Speaking about the scare, Harman explained that due to his family history, Jon was already undergoing regular screenings. He is now on medication and receiving continued monitoring. Despite the ordeal, she expressed a sense of luck that the situation was not more severe.
This incident followed another health setback for Jon, who previously broke his leg playing Padel and subsequently developed thrombosis.
