Amazon MGM Studios has advanced a select group of actors to the next round of auditions in the search for the next James Bond, following secret call-backs. The finalists to replace Daniel Craig have been informed they have made it through to the next stage, which will take place in August, according to Deadline sources.
Amazon MGM Studios Confirms Search Underway
In May, Amazon MGM Studios announced, “The search for the next James Bond is underway. While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.” Nina Gold, known for her work on Game of Thrones and The Crown, was appointed casting director. She joins producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, director Denis Villeneuve, and screenwriter Steven Knight in the first hunt for a new big-screen 007 in over two decades.
Multiple Actors Still in Contention
According to Deadline’s sources, there are at least five and as many as 19 actors still in the running. Insiders claim Gold has been meeting with lesser-known actors who may have progressed alongside rumoured stars. Current odds from William Hill place Scott Rose-Marsh and Harris Dickinson at 8/1, followed by Jacob Elordi at 15-2, Aaron Taylor-Johnson at 6-1, and favourite Callum Turner at Evens. Turner was recently photographed celebrating his wedding to Dua Lipa while wearing a James Bond tuxedo.
