James Acaster confessed to being a Traitor at the roundtable during the penultimate episode of The Celebrity Traitors, prompting a wave of angry reactions from viewers.
The comedian, who had been recruited as a Traitor in the second episode, admitted his status in the game after being accused of killing Ross Kemp in plain sight. In a confessional, he said: "They got me. I've always been a faithful at heart, a reluctant traitor. I'm going to do what I've done this whole game, be completely honest."
Shock confession at the roundtable
At the roundtable, Acaster told the group: "I just want to explain my situation. I was made a traitor without wanting to be. I've had a unique experience on this that no-ones had before, I wanted be a faithful that's all I wanted to be but I couldn't just go 'guys its me, vote for me' but that's all I can do really."
Throughout the series, Acaster was trusted by the faithful and was even chosen as one of the most trustworthy players, alongside fellow traitors Maya and Kenny. It was actor Michael Sheen who managed to crack the traitors, leading to Acaster's confession.
