ITV is set to broadcast a gripping crime drama that has viewers hooked. The Twelve, featuring Sam Neill as solicitor Brett Colby, has already attracted a devoted following across its initial two series, with its third instalment launching this weekend, reports the Express.
The courtroom drama debuted in 2022, with the opening series chronicling the experiences of 12 ordinary Australians chosen for jury service in a traumatising murder trial, where a woman stood accused of murdering her teenage niece. Entitled Cape Rock Murder, the latest chapter on ITV will centre on a high-stakes trial following a heinous murder. Sam returns as Brett, who defends an old friend while the jury contends with a decades-old secret.
A synopsis reveals: The Twelve: Cape Rock Killer is unlike any other as things get personal for Brett Colby after he is thrust into a murder trial to defend the husband of a lifelong friend accused of a heinous murder. As the trial unravels a deeper mystery, a 1968 cold case murder of two teens is reopened, and the 12 jurors sworn in for the trial find their own lives changed by the experience.
The Australian series commenced four years ago, with Kate Mulvany, Marta Dusseldorp, and Brendan Cowell also amongst the ensemble. It resumed in 2024, with the second season concerning a wealthy farmer discovered dead, with her daughter and a farmhand subsequently facing trial for the killing.
The series has proved enormously popular with audiences, with many describing it as binge-worthy and exciting.
