Henry Cavill's Leg Injury Halts Highlander Reboot Production

Henry Cavill has revealed a leg injury that has forced production on the upcoming Highlander reboot to pause. The 42-year-old actor, who is set to lead the Amazon MGM remake of the 1986 cult classic, sustained a calf injury during training for his role as Connor MacLeod.

Cavill shared images on social media showing him shirtless in the gym while wearing an orthopedic boot, with the caption: 'Endure. In enduring, grow strong. - Dak'kon, Planescape: Torment.' Additional photos show him performing lower body exercises under his trainer's supervision.

The Highlander reboot, announced in 2023, has attracted a star-studded cast. Russell Crowe will take on Sean Connery's role of Juan Sánchez-Villalobos Ramírez, while Dave Bautista has signed on as the villainous Kurgan. Marisa Abela, known for her role as Amy Winehouse in Back to Black, has also been cast in a leading but undisclosed role.

On a personal note, Cavill recently became a father to a daughter with fiancée Natalie Viscuso. The couple have kept details private, only confirming the gender in a recent interview. Cavill told GQ that the most important part of his life is 'my daughter being born, and the five of us settling into our forever home.'
