Susanna Reid has announced she will not appear on Good Morning Britain for the rest of the week, taking a short break from her presenting role on the ITV programme.
During Monday's show (October 26), viewers saw Susanna and her co-star Richard Madeley detail the latest headlines before speaking to Andy Burnham. Before the programme ended and was handed over to Lorraine, Susanna explained she would not be on screens for Tuesday's show.
Susanna's Announcement and Richard's Return
Susanna announced, "Now, I am off for the rest of the week." Richard wished his co-presenter an enjoyable half-term as they both confirmed he would return to the ITV programme on Tuesday (October 27) alongside Ranvir Singh.
Susanna continued: "Thanks very much indeed for watching. You can catch up with that interview with the Prime Minister on YouTube. Now, though, it's time to join Lorraine. Have a good day."
Richard Arnold's Return After Mini-Moon
The news that Susanna is stepping away briefly from Good Morning Britain follows the return of Richard Arnold to the programme after his absence. Last week, ITV audiences saw Rishi Davda present the latest entertainment news instead of Richard, who typically hosts the segment.
Richard revealed he had been away spending time with his husband, Stuart, whom he wed at Hackney Town Hall in September. Reflecting on his mini-moon getaway, he said: "It was lovely, we got a mini-moon together, it was wonderful. After 21 years, how do you think it went? A lot of cups of tea, let's put it that way."
The ITV star broke the news of his surprise wedding on Instagram, sharing a photograph of himself and Stuart, which showed Richard dressed in a kilt that he revealed had been borrowed from the Good Morning Britain wardrobe department.
Wedding Revelations and Gratitude
During a conversation about the special day with Kate Garraway on the programme, he remarked: "It was a prop for the Edinburgh festival years ago!" Kate replied: "So you raided the prop cupboard, didn't mention a word when you were on Friday, went to tell your mum and then got hitched? On a relationship that was 21 years in the making?" Richard then said: "Yes! We finally got there!"
Richard went on to express his gratitude to the GMB team, adding: "Thank you very much, team, for all the love, and I do mean that wholeheartedly." Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
