BBC Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones was left red-faced after an autocue blunder during Tuesday's broadcast. The mistake occurred as he and co-host Kym Marsh previewed the programme's content.
While discussing a segment about a children's book that sold for £350,000 due to a typo, Gethin mistakenly told viewers the show would air at 10:30, instead of the correct time of 9:30. He quickly corrected himself, exclaiming, 'It's a typo, a typo. It's 9:30.'
The studio erupted in laughter, with BBC Breakfast hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent teasing him. Jon joked that they thought they would have to host Breakfast for an extra hour. Gethin quipped that the show wasn't scripted.
The incident came after a cross-over from BBC Breakfast, where Sally Nugent had introduced the Morning Live segment. The blunder was reminiscent of the typo in the book being discussed, adding to the irony.
