A 27-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A, B and C drugs following a joint raid by West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester Police at an address in Oldham. The operation, which took place on August 11, recovered a quantity of suspected Class A, Class B and Class C drugs, cash, and two bladed articles.
Joint Investigation Leads to Raid
The arrest followed an investigation by neighbourhood officers from both forces into suspected drug supply between Oldham and Bradford. Acting on intelligence from the local community, officers identified a suspected drug supply linked to a local address.
Officers from Chadderton and Werneth conducted a forced-entry warrant at an address on Hereford Street in Werneth, supported by teams from West Yorkshire's Operation Phoenix.
Seized Items and Arrest
At the scene, police recovered a quantity of suspected Class A, Class B and Class C drugs, cash, and two bladed articles, all of which have been seized. The woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A, B and C drugs and has been transported to Bradford for questioning by West Yorkshire Police.
Police Comment on Partnership Working
PS Tom Layton from the Chadderton and Werneth Neighbourhood Policing Team described the work as a 'great example of neighbourhood policing'. He said: "By working closely with our partners in West Yorkshire Police, we have been able to identify and disrupt suspected criminal activity that crosses force boundaries and impacts our communities."
He added: "We know that drug-related crime causes significant harm to residents and can be linked to violence, exploitation and wider anti-social behaviour. Taking positive action against those suspected of being involved in the supply of illegal drugs remains one of our key priorities."
Layton also acknowledged the role of the public: "Partnership working and information from the public played a crucial role in this investigation.
