GB News host Nana Akua in heated on-air clash with guest

GB News presenter Nana Akua was forced to briefly pause her show after a heated exchange with political commentator Andy Twelves, during which she called him "pathetic" and he accused her of "poor hosting skills".

On-Air Argument Sparks Viewer Complaints

The clash occurred during a live discussion about the BBC's latest cuts and job losses, which also featured former Tory MP Esther McVey and fellow GB News presenter Will Kingston. Nana blasted Andy for interrupting her, telling him: "I'm hosting the show." He responded: "Are you? I don't think viewers would've caught that from your performance there, your poor hosting skills, you lost control of the panel."

Nana then asked if he had "quite finished", to which Andy replied "no". She continued: "Let's hear it. What else have you got to say? Let's get it all out now, so when you've managed to purge yourself of what it is you have against me and once you've done that, we can get on with the show."

Exchange Continues for Several Minutes

Stunned viewers said they planned to complain to Ofcom over the exchange, with some calling Andy "extremely disrespectful" and "rude", while he described her as "extremely unprofessional". The row continued for several minutes, with Andy saying "leave it there" while Nana insisted: "To be very clear, we are [going in circles] and I'm asking you to be respectful. Thank you."

When he continued talking over her, she asked "have you finished?", to which he repeated the question back. Nana then said: "Pathetic, childless and ridiculous," with Andy immediately questioning what she meant by her last comment.

Background of the Presenter

Before joining GB News, Nana worked with the BBC and appeared as a panellist on The Jeremy Vine Show and as a contributor for ITV's Good Morning Britain.
