GB News has been hit by a wave of prank callers using fake names, including 'Mike Hunt' and 'Mike Oxlong', who have managed to get on air without the production team realising the joke. The incidents occurred during programmes hosted by Simon McCoy and Michelle Dewberry, with viewers at home finding the situation hilarious.
One audience member noted the golden rule of television production: never put someone called Mike Hunt on air. Despite the laughter, the channel has faced numerous other issues since its launch on Sunday night, including technical difficulties, typos, and a presenter unaware he was live on air.
Andrew Neil's opening monologue, which promised to expose 'cancel culture', was marred by audio problems, with some viewers unable to hear his speech while others complained about the sound. Several brands have also pulled their adverts, distancing themselves from the channel.
