Fresh photographs have emerged showing legendary actor Sir Gary Oldman hard at work filming the highly anticipated seventh series of the hit Apple TV+ thriller Slow Horses. The 67-year-old Oscar winner was captured on set at a traditional pie and mash shop in London, fully immersed in his role as the dishevelled MI5 agent Jackson Lamb.
Returning to Slough House
Sir Gary has portrayed the lead character Jackson Lamb since the show's debut in 2022, based on Mick Herron's acclaimed Slough House spy novels. The series has proven to be a significant success for the streaming platform, with five series already aired and a sixth having completed filming prior to the release of the fifth instalment.
In Character Attire
In the new behind-the-scenes snaps, the much-loved actor sports Jackson Lamb's classic, unkempt wardrobe. This comprises a stained striped open-collar shirt layered beneath a trench coat, paired with trousers. Sir Gary also showcases his alter-ego's signature look, including long grey locks, facial hair, and distinctive glasses.
Some images show him seated alone at a table inside the establishment, casually drinking from a mug, while others appear to capture brief pauses during the filming process. The traditional London setting adds an authentic backdrop to the espionage drama.
Recent Filming Activities
Earlier this month, Sir Gary was also spotted filming alongside co-stars Christopher Chung, who plays Roddy Ho, and 16-year-old actor Lenny Rush at another London location. Pictures from that session depicted Gary and the 37-year-old Chung seated in the front of a car, with Lenny in the back. Additional shots showed the beloved actor beaming as he stood up to exit the vehicle.
A Veteran of Espionage Roles
Sir Gary Oldman is no stranger to the spy genre, having previously delivered a masterful performance as George Smiley in the 2011 film adaptation of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. His depth of experience in such roles continues to bring a compelling authenticity to the character of Jackson Lamb.
Off-Screen Passions
Beyond the film set, the iconic actor was recently spotted enjoying a football match, cheering on Championship side Millwall alongside fellow screen legend Daniel Day-Lewis. The pair, who boast four Academy Awards for Best Actor between them, were seen at the Den stadium watching Millwall's emphatic 4-0 victory over Charlton Athletic.
Cameras captured the two acting giants enjoying an afternoon out, with Day-Lewis, 68, wearing orange-tinted sunglasses and a black beanie, while Oldman opted for a more understated flat cap. Oldman, who won his Oscar for portraying Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, grew up in nearby New Cross and has historical family ties to the club, with reports suggesting his father played for Millwall after World War II.
Although he grew up a Millwall supporter, Oldman later switched his allegiance to Manchester United after idolising George Best. In contrast, Day-Lewis is a lifelong Millwall fan, having been raised in Greenwich, just two miles from Oldman's childhood home, despite coming from an aristocratic Kensington family background.
Day-Lewis holds a joint-record three Best Actor Academy Awards for his performances in My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, and Lincoln. The accomplished thespian duo chose a perfect game to attend, with the home side dominating through an own goal from Kayne Ramsay, a late strike from Caleb Taylor, and two more goals in stoppage time to seal the impressive result.
