Foo Fighters Play First Liverpool Gig at Anfield

Foo Fighters have made history by playing their first ever concert in Liverpool at Anfield Stadium on June 25, 2026. Thousands of fans descended on the home of Liverpool FC to see the rock icons perform their biggest hits. The band is scheduled to perform a second show at the same venue on Saturday, June 27.

Historic Performance for Foo Fighters in Liverpool

This marks the first time Foo Fighters have performed together in Liverpool. However, frontman Dave Grohl previously appeared at Anfield in 2008, joining Sir Paul McCartney on stage during a legendary Beatles tribute concert celebrating Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture.

Fans Brave Heatwave for the Show

Despite an amber weather warning for Merseyside, with temperatures predicted to reach 35°C, eager fans queued outside the stadium hours before the show began. The ECHO captured fans lining up in the scorching heat, undeterred by the extreme conditions.

Javier Soto, 35, and his partner Mar Herrero, 38, traveled from Granada, Spain, specifically for the gig. Javier said: "I'm back in Liverpool with my girlfriend, I'm excited for her to see the city as well. It's really good to come back."

Fans Share Their Excitement

David Falshaw, 60, originally from Liverpool but now living in Wolverhampton, told the ECHO his love for the band began "way, way back, one or two years after Kurt Cobain died." He recalled: "A friend of mine, who lived next door, said I've got a free ticket if you can drive. I thought, 'It's a free ticket let's go.' I was absolutely blown away by them."

Other fans included Adam Martin from Skelmersdale, Tea Dawson from Bury, and families from Wrexham, Middlesex, Anglesey, Southport, Cornwall, Essex, and York. The atmosphere outside the stadium was festive, with sun cream booths set up to help fans cope with the heat.

Second Show Scheduled

Foo Fighters will return to Anfield on June 27 for a second performance, ensuring that Liverpool gets a double dose of the band's legendary live show. The concerts are part of the band's ongoing tour, which has drawn massive crowds across the UK.
