Eurovision Grand Final: UK's Electro Act Aims for Points

The Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final 2026 is upon us, airing at 8pm on BBC One. This year marks the 70th edition of the iconic competition, taking place at the Wiener Stadthalle arena in Vienna. Twenty acts will compete for the coveted trophy, though notable absences include Spain, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Slovenia, who have withdrawn in protest over Israel's participation. As always, Graham Norton provides his signature witty commentary. The United Kingdom's entry is the electro act Look Mum No Computer, performing the song "Eins, Zwei, Drei." Hollie Richardson previews the night.

Other Saturday Highlights

Britain's Got Talent

At 6pm on ITV1, the fourth semi-final of Britain's Got Talent takes place. Viewers will see who from tonight's lineup joins previously qualified acts: Mizuki the aerialist performing to Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill," the intimidating Mega Unity dance squad dressed as the Joker, and 17-year-old harpist Niamh.

World's Most Secret Hotels

Channel 4 at 8pm presents more uniquely niche getaways, including a freight crane transformed into a sea-view hotel in Hamburg, a wagon retreat in Utah for cowboy enthusiasts, and a land-bound submarine-turned-hotel in the Scottish Highlands. No key cards required, notes Priya Elan.

Royal Peacemaker: Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh

Channel 5 at 9pm profiles Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, who worked in PR before marrying Prince Edward. The documentary charts her rise from an embarrassing tabloid sting in 2001 to a respected royal figure. Graeme Virtue calls it a breezy profile.

Monsieur Spade

U&Drama at 9pm airs the US series starring Clive Owen as Dashiell Hammett's detective Sam Spade, retired in the south of France in 1963. He investigates the murder of six nuns, finding himself in danger as the case develops. Jack Seale describes it as coolly atmospheric.

Saturday Night Live UK

Sky One at 10pm presents the final episode of the second season, presided over by former Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa. The show promises a celebratory vibe with pointed state-of-the-nation lampooning. Music comes from indie-pop singer Holly Humberstone, per Phil Harrison.

Film Choices

The Testament of Ann Lee

Now streaming on Disney+, Mona Fastvold's drama about the founder of the Shakers Christian sect in the 18th century defies simple classification. Amanda Seyfried delivers an intense performance as Ann Lee, a Manchester cotton worker who joins the Quakers, forms a celibacy-based group, and migrates to America for religious freedom. The film is a highly choreographed folk musical and a tale of female empowerment.

The Teachers' Lounge

At 9pm on BBC Four, İlker Çatak's German drama uses a school as a microcosm of society. Leonie Benesch plays new teacher Carla, who investigates thefts from the staff room, uncovering issues of racism, surveillance, trust, and power dynamics. The film throws the institution into turmoil, focusing on her favourite pupil, Oskar (Leonard Stettnisch).
