The 70th Eurovision Song Contest grand final is finally here, and music enthusiasts across the globe are brimming with excitement. This year, the vibrant city of Vienna plays host, following Austria's triumph in 2025 when their representative JJ secured victory with the operatic number Wasted Love.
Controversy and changes
Eurovision 2026 has not been without its share of controversy. Five nations, including Big Five member Spain, have withdrawn from the competition in protest against Israel's participation, citing the country's continued military operations in Gaza. This has led to a reshuffled lineup and heightened tensions behind the scenes.
UK's entry: Look Mum No Computer
Flying the flag for the United Kingdom this year is Look Mum No Computer, who will perform his track Eins, Zwei, Drei. The artist is bidding to secure Eurovision success for Britain, hoping to improve on recent performances.
Grand final start time and broadcast details
The grand final unfolds at Vienna's Wiener Stadthalle arena, kicking off at 8pm British Summer Time (9pm Central European Summer Time). British Eurovision devotees can tune in via BBC One or BBC iPlayer, or stream the show live on YouTube.
A total of 25 nations will compete in the final, following this week's two semi-finals that saw 10 countries eliminated. This year's competition originally featured 35 participating nations, but withdrawals reduced the number. The final will be broadcast across all competing countries.
Running order and hosts
Countries that progressed through the semi-finals entered a draw determining whether they would perform in the first or second half of the show, or receive Producers' Choice – meaning organisers will slot them into remaining positions in the running order. Austrian duo Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski will be taking the reins as hosts for the finale.
Meanwhile, Eurovision commentary icon Graham Norton is back to deliver his trademark sharp-witted observations throughout the evening, providing entertainment for UK viewers.
Opening ceremony and flag parade
Kicking off proceedings will be The Queen of the Night performance, featuring defending champion JJ displaying his extraordinary vocal prowess while fusing Mozart-influenced touches with his modern musical style. The curtain-raiser promises over 40 dancers and acrobats, setting the stage for the legendary flag parade introducing all 25 grand finalists.
UK jury representative
Representing the UK Jury this year will be vocalist and Strictly favourite La Voix, who will announce the points awarded to competing nations during the voting segment.
The Eurovision Song Contest grand final broadcasts tonight on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 8pm BST.
