Emmerdale star hints at Sadie King scene with Lewis Barton

Emmerdale fans are buzzing with anticipation as actor Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis Barton, has hinted at a possible on-screen meeting between his character and the returning villainess Sadie King (Patsy Kensit). Riches revealed that he and Kensit got along famously backstage, fueling speculation that the two characters could share a scene when Sadie returns to the Dales.

Fan Demand for a Lewis and Sadie Encounter

Speaking about the potential interaction, Riches said: 'I bumped into Patsy Kensit behind stage. She was very welcoming, I was trying to welcome her back as well. I saw a lot of comments in my social media. "Patsy is coming back! Is that true? We need a Lewis and Patsy scene." Apparently, she's a bit of a gay icon!'

The actor noted that Lewis, the quirky barista at Cafe Main Street, has a knack for bonding with unlikely characters, having previously struck up a relationship with his father Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) before learning of their connection. This history suggests Lewis could easily handle a chat with the formidable Sadie.

Sadie King's Legacy of Chaos

Sadie King, played by Patsy Kensit, is one of Emmerdale's most iconic villains. Known for her designer sunglasses and cold-hearted schemes, she has a long list of enemies in the village. Among her most notorious acts were an affair with her husband Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) brother Matthew, swindling Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell) out of Home Farm, and paying Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) to sabotage the King family's River show home, which led to an explosion that killed three residents. Her plot with Cain to kidnap her father-in-law Tom King backfired when Cain double-crossed her and ran off with the £2,000,000 ransom.

Potential Showdowns and Tea Preferences

With Sadie's return, many villagers are bracing for trouble. Jimmy King, his husband Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), and even Kim Tate (Claire King) are all potential targets. However, Riches imagines a lighter interaction: 'I will definitely get her a matcha. I don't know if she's a matcha girl. Maybe a floral tea is her energy. Or an Earl Grey with a dash of milk. That's quite boojie. Is she a boojie character? She gives big boojie energy in real life.'

Riches added that working in the café allows Lewis to cross paths with many characters, and he would welcome Sadie anytime: 'That's the beauty of working in a café. Even if it's just one scene, you come across so many characters. I feel like I've worked with almost every character. It will be really fun to welcome her into the café anytime!'
