The Tates have dominated Emmerdale this week, with Kim Tate finally revealing the identity of Thea's real father, Caleb confessing to sleeping with Sadie, and Joe vowing revenge against his uncle. As one of the most iconic soap families of all time, seeing them at the forefront again is exciting.
Elsewhere, romance could be on the cards for Kev and Nicola, while Belle is left tormented by Tom's impending prison release. Here are the biggest storylines from this week and where they might go next.
Steve Marchant's Return
After discovering that Thea Ramsden was her biological daughter, Kim Tate told her that her father was her former husband Steve Marchant. It has been confirmed that Paul Opacic will return to the role of Steve after 27 years when Thea decides to find her dad. Pretending to be a solicitor, she lures him back to the village under false pretences.
Steve coming face to face with Kim again is eagerly anticipated, with the possibility of a big grudge after she watched him get sent down for something she was heavily involved in. Kim has mellowed over the years, but Steve's return could bring out her scheming side once more.
Caleb's Affair and Ruby's Reaction
Sadie has her eyes firmly set on Caleb, who slept with her despite everything he and Ruby have been through. He accidentally admitted the truth to his nephew Joe, who absolutely hates him. Joe may be staying quiet for now, but it seems likely he won't keep the secret for long.
Ruby definitely won't take the news lying down, and the expectation is that she will go straight for revenge, with predictions of her going "absolutely nuclear."
Romance for Nicola and Kev
Jimmy was the love of Nicola's life, but a potential romance is brewing for her and Kev. Spoilers for next week show Kev questioning his feelings for her after he quits his job at the cafe, telling his son Lewis all about it. Lewis is very close with Nicola, leaving him feeling conflicted, but the hope is to eventually see them as one big dysfunctional family unit.
Belle's Torment
The evil Tom King is returning after being released from prison, and it seems like he's already messing with his estranged wife Belle.
