Emmerdale: Marlon quits Woolpack for Robert's Hide

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is set to make a major career move in Emmerdale, turning his back on the Dingles. After 25 years at the Woolpack, Marlon is offered a job by Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), who needs a chef to get his business, the Hide, up and running quickly. Robert, who is short on funds, poaches Marlon, and Marlon accepts after suggesting a salary that Robert agrees to.

Family Loyalty Tested

Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) is not impressed by Robert's inflated salary offer, given Robert's financial mismanagement. Robert only has enough to start the business because he cheated to win a poker game, and he bought the place with a dead man's stolen paycheck. Despite talk of family loyalty, Marlon is too excited about his new opportunity, and Mary also quits her job to join the Sugden side.

Charity's Fury

Charity (Emma Atkins) is angry with Robert for taking Sarah (Katie Hill) away from her, and she also stole Robert's poker winnings. She is doubly disgusted by Marlon's decision to work for the other side, but she cannot stop him. The lure of more money is enough for Marlon to deflect, and Charity bars Robert and Aaron from the pub.

Marlon is the least likely of all the Dingles to ditch his family, as he is too afraid of Charity. Something appears to be afoot, or Robert may have bested Charity Dingle.
