Emmerdale aired tense scenes on Friday night as Mackenzie Boyd lied to partner Chloe Harris once again, before making a cruel confession to his secret lover Charity Dingle. The love triangle has been ongoing for over a year, beginning when Mack cheated on Charity with Chloe, leading to Chloe's pregnancy. Despite attempts to keep distance, Mack eventually wanted to be part of his son Reuben's life, revealing the truth to Charity.
Charity and Mack split, and Chloe and Mack decided to make things work for their son. However, Mack and Charity later slept together again. The trio were caught in a dramatic car crash last month, where Mack had to choose which woman to save. He grabbed Charity, causing Chloe to fall off a cliff. Chloe survived but has pretended not to remember Mack's actions, unaware of his secret visits to Charity.
In the latest episode, Mack struggled to maintain the pretence and suggested collecting a takeaway, but instead went to The Woolpack to see Charity. He confessed he hated sneaking around and said it was too cruel to keep stringing Chloe along. Charity was shocked when Mack said he would end things with Chloe by the next day, despite her pleas to wait.
Next week, spoilers tease a double exit as Chloe plots revenge after being dumped. Devastated, she confides in her sister Amy Wyatt, who had warned her not to let Mack get away with leaving her to die. Chloe later sees Mack and Charity kissing and slaps Charity. Amy takes her away, and Chloe reveals her plan to flee to France with Reuben, stopping Mack from seeing his son again. She books tickets and makes her escape.
