Emmerdale: Liam mystery deepens as David hints at hidden past

Liam Cavanagh's innocence is called into question in tonight's Emmerdale as a new storyline appears to unfold for the local GP. After being tied up and threatened by a man named Dave, Liam discovers the man was actually hired by Chas Dingle as part of her murder mystery event, but a conversation about Liam's past leaves him visibly unsettled.

Liam's Ordeal and the Murder Mystery

Yesterday, Liam was alarmed when Paddy Kirk revealed that he had found Mary Goskirk on the table in the vets with a knife in her back. Mary was alive and well, and Liam soon learnt that she was playing a part in the murder mystery quest that Chas Dingle had organised for him.

As he got to work trying to solve the case, Liam ended up at Tenants, where he opened the door to a man called Dave, who tied him up with cable ties. Liam was alarmed but initially believed Dave was just part of Chas' game. When Dave stated that he was actually in town because Dylan Penders ratted him out to the police, Liam began to fear he was in real danger.

David's Revelation

In today's episode, Liam soon discovers that Dave really was hired by Chas as part of her murder mystery event. He is led to the pub, where he discovers Chas wants their wedding date to be January 29. Liam then approaches Dave – real name David – to thank him for taking part and putting on a convincing performance.

As the two men chat, it's revealed that David is from Kingston, and he believes Liam is from there as well. David says Liam seems familiar but doesn't remember ever bumping into anyone with the Cavanagh surname. Liam is reluctant to entertain the conversation and outright tells David that the man he's thinking of isn't him. When Liam walks away, he has a look on his face that suggests David's comments about him were accurate.

Other Village Developments

Elsewhere today, Sadie King continues to fuel the theory that Ruby Miligan has a drink problem, while Graham Foster learns who kidnapped Baby Tate. Emmerdale isn't on tomorrow due to the Carabao Cup airing instead, with the next trip to the village on Thursday, October 29.

During that instalment, Graham is reeling after learning that Joe Tate was the person who took Baby Tate. Meanwhile, after stabbing her daughter in self-defence, Kim Tate rushes Thea Ramsden to hospital. When she arrives, Kim is alarmed when the doctor insists they call the police, leaving her future at risk.
