Emma Mackey's Next Big Role After Sex Education

Emma Mackey, best known for her role as Maeve Wiley in Netflix's Sex Education, is set to appear in the romantic French epic Eiffel, which has finally secured a UK release date. The film, directed by Martin Bourboulon, will premiere in UK cinemas on August 5.

Set in 1880s Paris, Eiffel follows engineer Gustave Eiffel (Romain Duris) as he designs and constructs the iconic Eiffel Tower. Mackey, who is half-French, plays Adrienne Bourgès, a beguiling woman whose relationship with Eiffel was instrumental in shaping the Paris skyline.

In addition to Eiffel, Mackey has been cast in Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated Barbie movie, alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. She will also star as Emily Brontë in an upcoming biopic set on the Yorkshire Moors, which is expected to be released in 2022.
