EastEnders fans were left on tenterhooks on Tuesday 2nd September 2025 as a gunshot rang out during an emotional reunion between Kat Moon and her daughter Zoe Slater. The episode, available now on BBC iPlayer, ended with a cliffhanger as a bullet was fired in the direction of the two women outside The Queen Vic.
The drama unfolded after Zoe, played by Michelle Ryan, returned to Walford following years of estrangement. Kat (Jessie Wallace) was overwhelmed when son Tommy (Sonny Kendall) tricked Zoe into coming home. Despite initial hostility, Zoe agreed to stay for dinner with the family, including twins Bert and Ernie and great-grandmother Mo Harris (Laila Morse).
Tensions escalated when Zoe confronted Kat about her past, including her failure to speak up about abuse from uncle Harry. Kat tried to help, but Zoe ran off mid-conversation. Meanwhile, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) realised that Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) had his gun, and a struggle ensued between the two men.
As Kat desperately tried to persuade Zoe to stay outside The Vic, the gun went off in their direction. Jack and Ravi were left reeling, but it remains unclear who has been shot. The action continues on Wednesday 3rd September at 7.30pm on BBC One, with no early iPlayer release that day.
