EastEnders Quietly Recasts Returning Character Annie Carter

EastEnders fans have noticed that the role of Annie Carter, daughter of Linda Carter, has been recast ahead of her return to Albert Square. The character, previously played by Savannah Keir from 2022 to 2023, will now be portrayed by a different child actor with ginger hair.

The recasting comes as Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) returns to Walford after months away on a cruise, accompanied by her children Ollie and Annie. First-look pictures show Linda looking horrified at something off-camera, with fans aware that she is in for a shock as her ex-lover Max Branning also makes a comeback.

Viewers have taken to social media to speculate that the recasting is intended to highlight Annie's Branning heritage, as she is the product of an affair between Linda and Max. One fan wrote: "Max is gonna clock it straight away," while another commented: "OMG A RECAST ANNIE I AM LOSING MY MIND She literally looks like Max."
