EastEnders star teases fallout as Oscar Branning's twin love triangle exposed

EastEnders actor Pierre Counihan-Moullier has revealed the dramatic consequences for his character Oscar Branning, who has been secretly dating twins Jasmine and Josh. The storyline, which sees Oscar torn between the siblings, is set to reach a climax next week when his deception is exposed.

Speaking about the plot, Counihan-Moullier said: 'It’s a lot. He’s doing a classic Oscar and believes he’s in control, yet the more he gets involved, the worse it becomes, and he keeps making the wrong decisions in typical Branning fashion.' He added that Oscar feels guilty but cannot control his feelings, having developed strong attachments to both twins.

The actor explained that Oscar's behaviour stems from his upbringing, shaped by his father Max's mistakes. 'Growing up in the fallout of Max’s bad decisions has shaped him. On some level, he still craves his dad’s love and attention, so whether consciously or not, he slips into being like him,' he said.

Next week, Oscar's double life begins to unravel when Kat discovers the truth. 'It’s a wake-up call that forces him to make a mature decision - he can’t bury his head in the sand anymore,' Counihan-Moullier said. 'In Walford, secrets never stay hidden for long and now Kat knows, it’s only a matter of time before everything comes out.'

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
