EastEnders fans have spotted a 'big clue' about Max Branning's return following a twist involving Oscar Branning. It was confirmed earlier this month that actor Jake Wood is returning to the BBC soap for the first time since 2022.
The fan favourite character was last seen fleeing Albert Square when Linda Carter decided to get back with her ex-husband Mick Carter. Following years of fan demands and recent returns, Max's return marks another huge moment under new Executive Producer Ben Wadey.
One member of the Branning family already back in Walford is Oscar, now played by newcomer Pierre Moullier. Appearing for the first time since 2017 last week, Oscar has made a strong impression with viewers through his hilarious sense of humour. Despite being lighthearted, Oscar is in trouble with a gang and recently revealed he and Max haven't spoken since Christmas 2022.
In scenes aired on Monday (July 21), Linda Carter decided to sell the Queen Vic to Kat and Stacey Slater following an intense bidding war. Caught up in the madness, Linda was stunned to see her daughter Annie talking to Oscar in the market, who is actually her brother. During her affair with Max, Linda gave birth to Annie, with the father not knowing she was his child upon his exit.
Deciding to take a break from Walford after her mum Elaine gave her a cruise ticket, Linda pleaded with Lauren not to tell Oscar. However, with Max's return on the horizon, EastEnders fans on X are convinced it's only a matter of time before the truth about Annie comes out.
