EastEnders fans are convinced villain Craig Ingram is dead after Amy Mitchell struck him with a candlestick in a nail-biting cliffhanger, ending his creepy hold over her.
Amy (Ellie Dadd) was groomed by corrupt copper Craig (Matthew James-Bailey), and the pair went on the run together. Amy's father, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), and Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) had joined forces to track her down, which resulted in a bust-up between Sean and Craig at the hospital.
Craig's Demand and Amy's Escape
A furious Craig accused Amy of wanting him dead, and while she was in the bathroom, he called Jack, saying he would give Amy back in exchange for £100,000. Amy overheard him and demanded an explanation. Not satisfied with his excuses, she stole his phone and called for help.
She managed to get hold of Sean, who asked where she was, but before she could answer, Craig found her. He lunged at Amy, and she managed to lock herself in the bathroom. When Craig got in again, she whacked him over the head with a candlestick. The episode ended with Craig lying unconscious on the floor.
Fan Theories on Craig's Fate
Some fans were sure this meant Craig was dead. One said they "think this will line up with a photo of Sean with his coat/hood up and blue latex gloves on stood with Jack and Phil with his beanie on". The photo in question showed the three men standing together, looking at something on the floor, and a few fans agreed it looked like they were about to "play undertaker". A second fan said: "I'm guessing Jack & Sean will arrive to help her shift the body."
Other fans were convinced Craig was dead, as that would tie in with what happens at New Year - when Amy's uncle Max (Jake Wood), who knew Amy was with Craig and didn't say anything in exchange for £50,000, is arrested in connection with a murder. "I think they'll pin the murder if Craig on max and thats why the police are after him in the new year flash forward," said a fan on X.
Who Will Take the Blame?
Another agreed: "I think it'll be pinned on Sean who will then pin it on Max when he finds out what Max did with half of Amy's money." A third added: "And there is the answer to conspiracy to murder. She gave Max 50k. Craig is dead. I’ve cracked the case."
A fourth said: "We saw in the Trailer that Phil, Sean and Jack show up at the Bedsit but has Amy killed Craig? Will Sean set up Max for the murder when he finds out about Amy's money and how Max used it? Or will Craig survive his fatal blow? I can't wait to see how this ends."
