EastEnders icons Kat Moon and Cindy Beale are arrested after a brawl at The Albert, leaving Kat's attendance at Zoe's funeral in doubt. The pair, played by Jessie Wallace and Michelle Collins, were taken into custody following a confrontation with a rowdy customer in the October 27 episode, available now on BBC iPlayer.
Kat's downward spiral
The Queen Vic landlady has been struggling since the unexpected death of her daughter Zoe last month, and she has been determined to find out who left her to die. With Zoe's funeral scheduled for tomorrow, the arrest comes at the worst possible time for Kat.
Wanting to drown her sorrows, Kat spent the evening in The Albert, talking to Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and Cindy about the mystery man who left Zoe on her own in her last moments. However, Kat does not know that the man is no mystery to Cindy.
Cindy's secret knowledge
Cindy is aware that it was Max Branning (Jake Wood) who last spoke to Zoe, and she has been using her knowledge as part of her revenge plot. Their conversation was interrupted by a rowdy customer who bumped into Cindy, before leaving his card on the bar.
Kat instantly saw an opportunity to teach him a lesson, but things got out of hand when he followed her out of the bar. As the pair got into a row, Cindy tried to break it up, only for the police to get involved and arrest all three of them.
Night in the cells
With Kat and Cindy set to spend the night behind bars, Kat's attendance at Zoe's funeral is now in doubt. As the two share a heart-to-heart while incarcerated, viewers will see whether guilty Cindy comes clean about what she knows.
