EastEnders viewers have condemned Bea Pollard's latest scheme against Billy Mitchell as 'far-fetched' and 'obviously fake' after she played an AI-generated voice recording to Honey Mitchell, claiming Billy wanted an affair.
Bea's Manipulative Plot Unfolds
In Monday's episode, Bea escalated her obsession with Honey Mitchell by attempting to ruin her marriage to Billy. After previously creating a fake dating profile in Billy's name, she now presented Honey with a voice recording that supposedly captured Billy expressing a desire to sleep with Bea. Honey appeared shocked, while Billy was visibly dismayed. Bea, however, was thrilled with her manipulation.
Fans were quick to point out the implausibility of the scheme. One viewer remarked, 'Is it just me or do I think the AI voice of Billy doesn’t sound like him that much? To me, personally, it just sounds robotic so I’m not sure how anyone has fallen for that, especially Honey.' Another added, 'There’s certainly gonna be a few that’ll call it out as AI but the fake dating profile deffo won’t help his case.'
Fans Predict Darker Revenge
Beyond the voice note, some fans believe Bea's revenge may turn deadly. A theory circulating online suggests Bea could attempt to kill Billy. The theory notes, 'The way things are going with Bea I can definitely see her trying to kill Billy. She's already messed with Billy's ladders leading to Honey's injury so we know she's capable of physical sabotage.'
Earlier, Bea had tampered with Billy's ladder, causing Honey to fall and injure herself. This incident has led viewers to suspect that Bea's actions may become increasingly violent.
Viewer Reactions to the AI Recording
Many fans criticised the implausibility of the AI recording, insisting that Honey should see through the deception. A viewer commented, 'I was thinking exactly the same thing as I was watching it, it doesn't even sound like Billy never mind the fact it sounds robotic and fake. Billy's reaction to Bea saying about him wanting to sleep with her alone should be the sign she's lying, but if anyone falls for that very clearly faked voice note then poor Billy is all I can say.'
Another fan posted, 'Really funny but also so obviously not him talking it didn't even sound like his voice.' A final comment read, 'Surely Honey can’t believe Bea?! This is so far fetched and damn right STUPID!!!'
What's Next for Billy and Honey?
As the storyline progresses, it remains to be seen whether Honey will believe Bea's claims. The fake dating profile and the AI recording may sow doubt, but fans are hopeful that Billy will be vindicated. EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
