EastEnders' Amy Mitchell to Leave Walford After Killing Craig
EastEnders: Amy Mitchell to Leave Walford After Craig Death

EastEnders is set to air Amy Mitchell's exit following a shock death twist, but the teenager will make a return. As fans of the BBC soap will know, Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey) groomed Amy (Ellie Dadd) after the pair met during the investigation into Joel Marshall's (Max Murray) brutal attack.

A Deadly Confrontation

After convincing Amy he was in love, Craig planned their escape from Walford before her father, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), could reveal that he had been struck off for his treatment of female colleagues, including sexual misconduct and harassment. They also managed to convince Max Branning (Jake Wood) to hand over Amy's £100k inheritance from her late grandfather, Archie Mitchell, played by Larry Lamb.

Craig was also violent towards Amy, and their final showdown saw him try to hurt her once more, only for Amy to fight back. Amy hit him over the head with a candlestick and accidentally killed him, before fleeing the scene without calling the emergency services for help.

Amy returned home and found comfort in her former step-dad, Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky), but failed to disclose that Craig was dead when she was questioned by the police.

Jack and Denise Decide Amy's Future

In upcoming EastEnders episodes, airing from Monday (November 9), Amy remains overwhelmed after accidentally killing Craig, and falls out with Jack and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman). When Sean finds Amy, he encourages her to take some time away from Walford, but Jack arrives and orders her home.

It's Denise Fox (Diane Parish), who is undergoing lifesaving treatment for cancer, who makes Jack see sense, and they decide to arrange for Amy to stay with family away from Walford while she recovers from recent events. The BBC soap has yet to confirm when Amy will return to Albert Square.

Amy Mitchell's History in Walford

Amy Mitchell was born on November 14, 2008, making her 17 years old. She is the daughter of Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) and Jack Branning, however, when she was born, her mum told Sean Slater he was Amy's biological dad.

Sean had a romance with Roxy, and after many hiccups, they married and looked forward to a happy future together. Roxy later delivered a baby girl, whom she named Amy in memory of her sister Ronnie's baby, leaving the couple delighted.

But their marriage ended in disaster when it was revealed on Christmas Day in 2008 that Jack was the biological father of their baby following a fling with Roxy. This prompted Sean's dramatic departure from the soap in 2009 and ended his relationship with Roxy.

Over the years, Sean, who recently returned to Walford, has also felt a strong paternal connection to Amy, and is now playing an integral part of her life as a rocky road lies ahead for the teenager following Craig's death. EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and iPlayer.
