Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) has left disgraced cop Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) motionless after striking him over the head with a candlestick in EastEnders. The dramatic turn in the storyline, which saw groomer Craig flee Walford with teen Amy in tow, reached a peak last week when Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) learned of the danger his daughter faced.
Former mainstay Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky), who shares a connection with Amy, returned to the Square just in time and has been aiding in the search for the missing girl. His plan to lure Amy and Craig out of hiding paid off, resulting in him confronting Craig outside the hospital. But Craig managed to evade his grasp and made off with Amy back to their bedsit once more.
Amy's desperate defence
With Craig having become violent, Amy feared for her life and made a phone call to Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega), who was in the company of Sean at the time. But before she could reveal her whereabouts, Craig returned and hit her again. With the locks of the bedsit bolted, Amy headed to the bathroom, where she grabbed a candlestick and smacked Craig over the head.
Now, with Amy standing over Craig's motionless body, the question remains: is Craig dead? Has she killed him? And if so, what will this mean? Or will Craig pull through, and if he does, will he manage to evade justice?
What happens next in Thursday's episode
New spoilers for Thursday, November 5 indicate that fans can expect answers to these questions. Sean, meanwhile, will relay his phone conversation with Amy to his loved ones, but can he figure out the location of the bedsit and track down missing Amy?
Elsewhere, Max Branning (Jake Wood) refuses to take the hint after his unnecessary comments about Mick (Danny Dyer) and attempts to speak to Nancy (Maddy Hill), who orders him to stay out of her family's business. Frustrated, Max talks to Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and vows to insert himself into Linda's family.
Other Walford developments
Speaking of the Carters, they call a truce after their recent falling out. And finally, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) rallies Sharon (Letitia Dean) and the other women of Walford to join Gemma Hawkins' (Patricia Potter) new book club, though it remains to be seen if they will be keen.
EastEnders airs these scenes Thursday November 5 at 7:30pm on BBC One or streams from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
