Does Thea die in Emmerdale after Kim stabs her?

In tonight's episode of Emmerdale, Kim Tate (Claire King) stabs DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) during a confrontation at Home Farm, unaware that the detective is actually her daughter.

The attack follows Thea's belief that Kim and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) were planning to sell Baby Tate. Thea, who was put up for adoption shortly after birth herself, became convinced Kim intended to get rid of the newborn and plotted revenge.

The kidnap and the showdown

Before the stabbing, a mysterious figure broke into the cottage where Graham had been staying and took Baby Tate, leaving Graham and Kim horrified. In tonight's episode, Graham follows a trail left by the kidnapper while Kim, alarmed by strange noises in Home Farm, calls Thea for help.

Kim soon begins to suspect Thea orchestrated the baby's disappearance. Believing she is in danger, she tries to flee Home Farm, but Thea has locked the doors. A scuffle breaks out, and while Thea attempts to restrain Kim, she fails to notice Kim grabbing a knife. Kim then stabs Thea in the stomach.

Will Thea survive?

Spoilers confirm Kim will rush Thea to hospital, but whether Thea survives remains unknown. Kim still does not know Thea is her daughter. Thea could reveal the truth before taking her final breath, or she could survive and tell Kim afterwards.

Teasing the drama, Chelsea Edge said: 'It is a big turning point. It all comes to a head, and there's a real 'like mother like daughter' moment in their fieriness that we experience through Halloween – which is very fitting!'
