Disney+ 'Rivals' Unveils Steamy New Trailer with Explicit Nudity and Sex Scenes
The highly anticipated trailer for Disney+'s "Rivals" has dropped, sending shockwaves through fans with its eye-popping sex scenes and full-frontal nudity. Within mere seconds, viewers are treated to a very steamy display of two mystery naked bodies writhing passionately on screen, setting the tone for what promises to be the naughtiest show on television.
Star-Studded Cast Strips Down for Raunchy Moments
Oliver Chris, portraying TV host James Vereker at Corinium, strips completely naked in a bold scene, while Danny Dyer's character Freddie Jones goes shirtless for a passionate kiss. The trailer highlights the five main characters, including David Tennant as the ruthless Lord Tony Baddingham, managing director of Corinium, and Emily Atack as rising TV star Sarah Stratton.
Other key figures include Alex Hassell as antagonist Rupert Campbell-Black, a retired Olympic show-jumper turned Tory MP, Aidan Turner as ex-BBC journalist Declan O'Hara, and Nafessa Williams as American TV-producer Cameron Cook. The ensemble is rounded out by Bella Maclean as Taggie O'Hara, adding to the dramatic tension.
Plot Twists and Heated Rivalries in 1980s Excess
The synopsis teases a fever-pitch battle for the Central South West television franchise, with Corinium and Venturer entering a dangerous new phase. Lord Baddingham, more ruthless than ever, is determined to dismantle his rivals by weaponising scandal and manipulating those closest to him. Amidst the hedonistic glamour of 1980s excess, personal lives spiral into chaos.
Marriages fracture under ambition, illicit affairs threaten families, and long-buried secrets ignite with explosive consequences. Loyalties are tested and hearts broken in the pursuit of victory, raising the question: what is the true cost of war? The trailer confirms Baddingham's survival after being left for dead in series one, showing him returning in a shiny helicopter scene, suffering "a headache" and back "at war" with rival Rupert.
Series Details and Future Plans
The series will roll out in two six-episode batches, beginning with a three-episode premiere on May 15 in the US, followed by the second batch later this year on Disney+ in the UK. Based on the late Jilly Cooper's novel, "Rivals" became an instant hit in 2024, and Disney is so confident in the second series that talks for a third have already begun.
A potential third instalment would be based on Cooper's 1991 novel "Polo," with filming possibly starting later this year for a late 2027 or early 2028 release. Katherine Parkinson shared the cast's devastated reaction to Dame Jilly Cooper's death during filming, noting her heavy involvement in production and the hope that the second series will "do Jilly justice."
Fans have cheered "we are so back!" as the trailer promises even raunchier content than before, with the personal dramas and corporate battles set to captivate audiences once again.
