Dick and Angel Strawbridge Return to Channel 4 for New Travel Series After Bullying Allegations

Dick and Angel Strawbridge, the stars of Escape to the Chateau, are returning to Channel 4 for a new travel series, months after being dropped by the broadcaster following bullying allegations, which the couple have consistently denied.

The three-part series, titled Secret France with Dick and Angel, will air on Channel 4 from Sunday, June 2, at 8pm. It will follow the couple as they explore lesser-known areas of France, aiming to retain the escapism and warmth of their previous show.

Channel 4 had previously announced it would not work with the Strawbridges on any new productions after an independent investigation into their conduct. The allegations emerged last year, with former colleagues claiming clashes with producers and describing them as 'a nightmare to work with'.

Despite the ban, the broadcaster decided to air the pre-filmed series. An insider told The Sun that the series was filmed before a leaked recording of Angel allegedly using abusive language, and that Channel 4's position on not working with the couple in the future remains unchanged.

The couple have always denied the allegations, stating on Instagram that 'there are two sides to every story' and that it was their decision to conclude Escape to the Chateau. They are also embarking on a UK theatre tour, sharing their adventures and challenges.
