Derry Girls Star Saoirse-Monica Jackson Weds in Three-Day Celtic Celebration

Derry Girls actress Saoirse-Monica Jackson has married her DJ fiancé Hector Barbour, known as Denis Sulta, in a three-day wedding celebration in Kerry, Ireland. The 31-year-old, who plays schoolgirl Erin Quinn in the hit comedy, wore a custom Annie's Ibiza dress with puff sleeves, which featured nods to the wedding dresses of both her mother and mother-in-law.

Jackson was walked down the aisle by her father to a cover of The Cranberries' 'Dreams', the theme song from Derry Girls. Her co-star Jamie-Lee O'Donnell, who played Michelle Mallon, attended as a bridesmaid in a long green Rat & Boa dress. The evening saw Jackson's dress transform, with the skirt shortened and the corset reversed to reveal a tartan side.

The couple celebrated their shared Celtic heritage, with Barbour, who is Scottish, wearing a kilt and feathered hat for the ceremony. Jackson told British Vogue: 'Everybody said that the whole weekend was like something from a movie, and it really was.' The pair had originally considered marrying abroad but chose Ireland to honour their roots.

Barbour proposed with a custom ring during a trip to a beach in Donegal while both were wearing Dryrobes and Crocs. Jackson noted that Barbour had written down everything he said during the proposal, which she enjoyed reading back. The couple shared their joy on Instagram, with Jackson posting photos and videos captioned 'to infinity and beyond'.

In one clip, Jackson joked about being a 'shy bride' and asked 'When's the kissing?' Another video showed her dancing with O'Donnell, while a photo captured her sipping a pint of Guinness. Derry Girls, created by Lisa McGee, follows teenagers in 1990s Northern Ireland before the Good Friday Agreement.
