Strictly's Delta Goodrem in tears after injury but cleared to return
Delta Goodrem in tears after injury, cleared for Strictly return

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Delta Goodrem has been given the all-clear to return to the ballroom this weekend after a rib injury forced her to miss last week's live show. The 41-year-old Australian singer shared emotional videos of herself in tears as she feared the injury could end her time in the competition.

Injury During Rehearsals

Goodrem sustained the rib injury during rehearsals, which left her heartbroken as she considered the possibility of having to withdraw entirely. Taking to Instagram, she posted footage of herself visibly distressed while contemplating whether she and her dance partner Kai Widdrington could continue.

In her post, Goodrem wrote: "I filmed little moments over the past two weeks to remind myself that even on the frustrating days, there would be progress. I was gutted when the injury happened, as I've been truly loving this experience. It's hard to be patient when you want to be full force again but I've been listening, taking things carefully and learning to appreciate the small steps!"

Return to the Ballroom

Earlier this week, a Strictly spokesperson confirmed her comeback, stating: "Following her bye last week due to injury, we're delighted to confirm Delta has been given the all clear to dance again this weekend."

Goodrem and Widdrington are set to perform a Rumba to 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' by Celine Dion, following a string of impressive weeks at the top of the leaderboard. Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight (Saturday, October 24) at 6.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
