Kate and Rio Ferdinand have showcased their impressive gym-honed figures in matching cover shoots for Women's and Men's Health UK. The couple, who relocated to Dubai last year with their children, posed for the March issues of the magazines, which went on sale on 10th February.
Kate, 34, recently admitted she has been struggling with the move, breaking down in tears as she confessed she misses her family. She explained that while Dubai is an 'amazing' place to live, she finds it difficult being apart from Rio's two eldest sons, Lorenz, 19, and Tate, 17, who remained in the UK to pursue their football careers.
Rio, 47, described the relocation as an 'adventure' in his interview with Men's Health UK. He said: 'There aren't many opportunities in life where you get time to make a big change, have an adventure, step out of your comfort zone and explore something new. So this is it. This is what we wanted to do.'
Kate emphasised the importance of exercise for her mental health, stating: 'I want to look good and I'm happier when I look good, I have to be honest. But I would always choose to exercise because I work out for my mental health, too.' She also noted that the move has allowed Rio to be more 'present' with the family after he stepped back from his punditry role with TNT Sports last year.
The couple made the move with Rio's daughter Tia, 13, from his first marriage to his late wife Rebecca, and their two children together, son Cree, five, and daughter Shae, two. Kate admitted she misses the UK but believes the decision is right for her younger children, who are 'thriving and happy' in Dubai.
