Dad Q on fear for wife after two miscarriages

First-time dad Q has revealed he was "really scared" for his wife Peace as they prepared to welcome twins on the latest episode of One Born Every Minute, after the couple endured two miscarriages. Their story aired on E4, following them into hospital for a planned C-section.

High-Risk Pregnancy and Twin Discovery

Peace recalled her astonishment when an ultrasound scan revealed she was carrying twins, with no history of twins in her immediate family. Her pregnancy was classed as "high-risk," and she explained that her babies were "on the small side" and needed their development carefully monitored.

"It has been an emotional rollercoaster these past nine months," she admitted. "But I have been around a lot of positive people, I come from a very positive family." Reflecting on her anxiety ahead of welcoming her son and daughter, Peace said: "There are so many things that can change in the flicker of an eye."

Two Miscarriages and a Special Third Pregnancy

"The magic of pregnancy kind of goes away when you have losses," she added, before Q revealed the couple had endured two miscarriages. "I went in to A&E and they were just like 'Yeah, there's nothing there'. We were like OK, we will try again, and it happened again. It was a very emotional time," Peace recalled.

Q said he could not allow himself to feel sadness, as "I have got to be the one she can lean on." The couple had initially decided against trying a third time, but later discovered they were expecting twins and were thrilled.

Q shared: "This third one is really special, to know you are having twins. It feels like the first baby and second baby both came at the same time. God just said I took them away but you can have them back now."

Birth and a Second Story

Despite his joy, Q confessed: "I'm really scared about the birth, I don't want anything to happen to Peace, I just want her to be OK." Ahead of her C-section, Peace said "I'm absolutely panicking" as she broke down in tears over her babies "going to be so small." Her mother was on hand to comfort her. Peace went on to have a successful C-section, welcoming her two babies as Q wept with joy.

The couple first connected on Instagram, with Peace admitting she put up "a bit of resistance" before dropping her guard. They subsequently tied the knot.

The episode also featured Maxine, who discovered she was expecting shortly after the baby's father ended their relationship. She had been booked in for a C-section, but needed an earlier theatre slot when her waters broke prematurely.

"I had the date with the baby's father, we had a really good time, we had been dating for about four months but he sort of said to me, 'I don't think you are the right person for me'," she recalled. "And then it was probably three weeks after that I realised 'Hang on a second, I've not had my period, it's late'. And then I thought I'm going to have to tell the father, but we weren't going to get back together because I don't want to be with someone who is not 100 per cent for me. He said to me whatever you decide, I will support you."

She had a successful C-section and delivered a baby girl, saying: "This is something that I have always wanted, and if I didn't decide to continue with the pregnancy, I would forever regret not having this baby."

One Born Every Minute airs on Sunday nights at 9pm on E4.
