Coronation Street actress Vicky Myers has shared a sweet tribute to her on-screen daughter Sydney Martin, who celebrated her 25th birthday away from the famous cobbles over the weekend.
Myers, from Stockport, plays DS Lisa Connor-Swain in the ITV soap, filmed in Salford, and is the mother of Martin's character, Betsy Swain. On Sunday, October 18, Martin marked her birthday with friends, heading to Mother Shipton's Cave, described as England's oldest tourist attraction in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.

In pictures shared on Instagram, Martin enjoyed the autumnal day in the ancient woodland park where the cave, known for its mystical origins, is set. She captioned the post: "25 but she’s still a fairy princess," before receiving an outpouring of birthday wishes.
Vicky Myers also posted a message to her on-screen daughter on her own Instagram page, sharing a picture of the pair from a Corrie scene to her Instagram Story and writing: "Happy 25th Birthday Sydney Kidney. Love you."
Tributes from On and Off-Screen Friends
Martin's on and off-screen best friend Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren Bolton in Corrie, also paid a gushing tribute. Fitton shared a video on her Instagram Story featuring clips of the pair from their Corrie dressing rooms at the Greater Manchester set to the BRIT Awards red carpet earlier this year.
She wrote: "Happy birthday to my best friend. Life is so much more special because you are in it." Alongside a collage of images, Fitton continued: "I love doing life with you @sydneymartin._," before posting a selfie of them both and adding: "To the friend who came into my life a little later, but somehow feels like she's been there forever. Some friendships just click and you can't imagine life before them. So grateful life brought me you. Eventually you'll know. And they won't."
